Por primera vez, una entidad de gobierno en el país, invita a Transparencia Venezuela a formar parte desde sus inicios, en la supervisión de la gestión y la lucha contra la corrupción. Así lo aseguró, Jesús Urbina, coordinador del capítulo zuliano, de Transparencia Venezuela, desde el encuentro con el alcalde de Maracaibo, Rafael Ramírez, sus directores generales, concejales y recién nombrados funcionarios de gobierno.
“No existe un precedente de esto en el país. Es la primera vez que un gobierno local en sus inicios, convoca a a la sociedad civil organizada y la invita a sentarse con el gobierno para planear lo que debe ser, en materia de buenas prácticas del ejercicio. Esta mañana va a quedar marcada”, dijo Urbina asegurando que era un muy buen pie y señal, que la gestión del joven alcalde de Maracaibo, decida, así como aseguró en su discurso de juramentación, iniciar desde la transparencia. “Que esto sea el semillero de la recuperación de la democracia” apuntó.
Ante ello, el alcalde Ramírez aseguró que la convocatoria quiere ratificar la forma distinta de hacer gestión. “Hablamos de modelar nuestra conducta de cara al futuro. Que exista la formalidad y la formación. Entendamos que en la función pública tenemos que ser transparentes, rendir cuentas y generar confianza”, indicó Ramírez.
Insistió en que la corrupción, en su gestión no es ni será tolerable. “No va a ser permitida y todos ustedes son garantes de que eso pase; y a ustedes les toca tomar las decisiones para que eso no ocurra. Todos ustedes son la cara de la gestión. Todos estamos apostando a futuro. Y si afecta a la gestión afecta al desempeño de todos. Ser distintos es hacer las cosas diferente. Al que se trague la luz, hay que aplicarle lo que corresponde según la ley y es por eso que, para que esto no sea empírico, invitamos a quienes se han dedicado a estudiar la transparencia” mencionó en relación a la convocatoria realizada a Transparencia Venezuela.
El alcalde refirió sobre la posibilidad de convertir este enlace, en un programa continuo de formación de funcionarios, para que estén vigilantes de la corrupción. “Hace falta conocer las nuevas tendencias de transparencia y que sean aplicadas a a lo largo de la gestión. Dijimos que seriamos diferentes con la transparencia, tenemos que ser diferentes incluso con la forma en educarnos para ello”, precisó.
