Por consenso la Plataforma Unitaria ya cuenta con 15 candidatos a las alcaldías del estado Zulia, solo restan por definir seis municipios.
San Francisco, Cabimas, Lagunillas, Jesús Enrique Lossada, Colón y Rosario de Perijá son los ayuntamientos en los que este 19 septiembre se realizarán primarias para que surjan los nombres de quienes representarán a la Mesa de la Unidad Democrática en los comicios del 21 de noviembre.
«Todo el material ha sido recibido. La comisión electoral regional, las comisiones electorales municipales con los representantes de los partidos que han avalado y suscritos todos los acuerdos ya está todo listo para el próximo domingo”, afirmó José Luis Alcalá, presidente de Un Nuevo Tiempo en Zulia en entrevista con Foco Informativo.
Detalló que los aspirantes que van a primarias son:
- Gustavo Fernández (UNT) y Julio Montoya (PJ), por San Francisco.
- Ángel Mata (AD), Nabil Maalouf (UNT), Ricardo Acosta (PJ), por Cabimas.
- José Mosquera (UNT) y Viateney Cumare (AD), por Lagunillas
- Rosiris Orozco (UNT) y José Luis Inciarte (VP), por Jesús Enrique Lossada
- Nervin Sarcos (UNT), Eleany Canquiz (AD), Elgio Pedreáñez (PJ) y Jesús Gutiérrez (VP), por el municipio Colón.
- Ely Ramón Atencio (AD), Lurba Rojas (VP), por Rosario de Perijá.
Al definirse estos municipios ya estaría completada la lista de candidatos en la entidad zuliana por la denominada unidad que cuenta con Manuel Rosales como la opción para la Gobernación del Zulia.
Para la realización de primarias la Plataforma Unitaria solicitó apoyo a la asociación civil Súmate.

Alcalá Rhode además informó que la candidatura del municipio Mara también se logró a través del consenso. Será José Luis Fereira, de Un Nuevo Tiempo, quien enfrente en las elecciones regionales y municipales a Luis Caldera, abanderado del Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela que ha estado frente al ayuntamiento 16 años, es decir, cuatro períodos.
“Todos los partidos declinaron a favor de José Luis Fereira”, aseguró el presidente del UNT-Zulia.
