Unas 50 mil dosis de la vacuna contra la COVID-19 del laboratorio anglo-sueco Astrazeneca serán destruidas este martes por el Gobierno de Paraguay tras llegar a su fecha de vencimiento, afirmó el ministro de Salud Pública de ese país, Julio Borba.
«Lastimosamente sí, se van a eliminar. Hay una suerte de relajamiento y una suerte de que todos nos quedamos tranquilos, pero no solamente pasa acá, pasa en todos los países», dijo en una entrevista con la radio local Monumental 1080.
Asimismo, recordó que hace un mes recibió una llamada de «un país de Centroamérica» con la intención de hacer un donativo de unas 500 mil vacunas y que el Gobierno paraguayo se opuso por considerar que tenían «suficiente ‘stock’».
«Cuando yo le ofrezco esa misma cantidad de vacunas a otros países de la región, todos me dijeron que no porque estaban en la misma situación y nos ofrecieron vacunas a nosotros», detalló.
El ministro lamentó que se vayan a destruir la dosis e insistió en que es probable que exista «un relajamiento» en la población sobre la inmunización.
