En las últimas 24 horas, nueve personas fallecieron en Venezuela debido a la COVID-19, con lo que la cifra total de muertes desde el inicio de la pandemia llegó a 5 mil 591, informó este viernes el ministro de Comunicación, Freddy Ñáñez.
«Lamentablemente, tenemos nueve nuevos fallecidos para llegar a 5 mil 591», escribió Ñáñez en su cuenta de Twitter, donde detalló que tres de los fallecidos eran de Caracas y uno del estado Miranda, que alberga parte del área metropolitana de la capital, reseñó EFE.
La lista la completan una persona de Anzoátegui, una de Barinas, una de La Guaira, una de Monagas y una de Portuguesa.
Por otra parte, el ministro reportó que las autoridades han detectado en las últimas 24 horas 347 nuevos contagios, todos ellos por transmisión comunitaria.
El estado con más infecciones nuevas detectadas es Lara, con 79 casos, de los que 54 fueron localizados en el municipio Iribarren, 12 en Palavecino, 11 en Crespo, uno en Torres y uno en Andrés Eloy Blanco.
Por detrás se ubica el noroccidental estado Zulia (66), que precede a Miranda (46), Yaracuy (36), Portuguesa (22), Caracas (22), Aragua (14), Falcón (13), Anzoátegui (8), Barinas (7), Cojedes (7), La Guaira (6), Sucre (5), Bolívar (3), Trujillo (2), Táchira (2), Nueva Esparta (2), Carabobo (2), Guárico (2), Monagas (2) y Mérida (1).
Casi 510 mil casos confirmados
De este modo, Venezuela llega a 509 mil 947 casos confirmados por las autoridades desde el inicio de la pandemia, aunque 492 mil 902 pacientes ya se han recuperado, lo que representa el 97 % del total.
Actualmente, hay 11 mil 454 casos activos, de los que 7 mil 680 se encuentran asintomáticos, 3 mil 042 padecen insuficiencia respiratoria aguda leve, 453 tienen insuficiencia respiratoria aguda moderada y 279 están ingresados en unidades de cuidados intensivos.
Plan de vacunación
El viceministro para Temas Multilaterales de Venezuela, Rubén Darío Molina, abordó este viernes con el representante de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) en el país, Gerardo De Cosio, la manera de «dar continuidad al plan de inmunización contra la COVID-19».
La Cancillería venezolana detalló en un comunicado que «ambas autoridades discutieron la hoja de ruta para este año 2022, para impulsar la cooperación en este sector en beneficio del pueblo venezolano y sobre todo para dar continuidad al plan de inmunización contra la COVID-19».
La información recordó que el Gobierno venezolano ha trabajado de la mano con la OPS «para adquirir vacunas antiCOVID a través del mecanismo Covax».
También reiteró que Venezuela recibió el pasado 17 de enero el quinto lote de vacunas producto de esta alianza. La entrega constó de un total de 3 millones 100 mil 800 dosis producidas por el laboratorio Sinopharm y adquiridas mediante el Fondo Rotatorio de la OPS.
Con este arribo, se completaron las 12 millones 076 mil 800 dosis financiadas con recursos propios del país, en el marco del acuerdo firmado con el organismo el año pasado.
