El Pentágono está en contacto con los países de Latinoamérica por los que ha pasado el “globo espía” de China, dijo este lunes el presidente estadounidense, Joe Biden.
Preguntado sobre si Washington ha estado en contacto con sus aliados en Latinoamérica, Biden respondió: “El Departamento de Defensa sí, yo no”.
El Pentágono anunció el viernes por la noche que había detectado otro “globo espía” chino sobre Latinoamérica; y, este lunes, el Gobierno chino confirmó que la aeronave era de su propiedad y dijo que, a diferencia de Estados Unidos, los países latinoamericanos “entienden” que el dirigible no “representa ninguna amenaza”.
Detectado en Colombia y Venezuela
Los países sobre los que se ha detectado la aeronave son Costa Rica, Colombia y Venezuela, según diferentes fuentes.
La crisis de los “globos espía” se agudizó este sábado después de que EEUU derribara, por orden directa de Biden, la aeronave china que llevaba varios días sobrevolando el país norteamericano.
En respuesta a la maniobra, China expresó una profunda “insatisfacción y protesta” al considerar que Washington “sobrerreaccionó” por usar la fuerza para abatir la aeronave que sobrevolaba su espacio aéreo.
El descubrimiento del primero de estos “globos espías” en el espacio aéreo estadounidense ha desencadenado una crisis diplomática entre Washington y Pekín y ha motivado la suspensión del viaje que el secretario de Estado, Antony Blinken, tenía previsto hacer al país asiático el pasado fin de semana.
