La periodista destacó que una investigación en conjunto con la consultora ANOVA Policy Research arrojó que 88 % de los hogares liderados por madres solteras se encuentran en situación de pobreza.
Dicha problemática es estudiada desde hace muchos años permitiendo elaborar de manera profunda, las implicaciones de la pobreza según el género
Por su parte, Alayón explicó que la pobreza es un fenómeno que se puede medir económicamente de múltiples maneras.
Una de ellas es la pobreza de ingresos, es decir, cuando la persona no puede satisfacer sus necesidades básicas, afectando de manera desigual a hombres y mujeres, dijo el economista.
Datos de la investigación
Rojas considera que el análisis de los datos es importante porque permite entender la estructura de la pobreza en mujeres que han demostrado los estudios.
Según la investigación demuestra que la pobreza no se trata de una imposibilidad de la mujer sino los factores alrededor de ellas.
Finalmente, destacó que también las mujeres jóvenes que se convierten en esposas o madres a menudo dejan de trabajar para cuidar a sus hijos. Además son responsables de cuidado de otras personas en el hogar.
