Los primeros 43 comerciantes informales del Terminal de Pasajeros que pasaron a la formalidad bajo el Plan Organización que emprendió la Alcaldía de Maracaibo en este importante espacio de la ciudad destacaron que después de muchos años, fueron sumados al ordenamiento y seguridad del terminal.
Lessiu Rivera es un joven de 30 años que vende pan en el terminal desde hace 10 años. Asegura que esta es la primera gestión municipal que los toma en cuenta. El Plan de Organización llega como complemento de todas la mejoras realizadas en el terminal en los últimos tres años, que van desde la iluminació9n y adecuación del concreto en los andenes, la rehabilitación de la sala de espera y la recuperación del área administrativa.
“Fuimos rechazados, ignorados y hasta botados por las anteriores gestiones. Nos quitaron la oportunidad de trabajar y tener un sustento para nuestras familias. Agradecemos porque nos escucharon y nos tomaron en cuenta. Ahora podemos vender nuestra mercancía sin ningún inconveniente. ¡Gracias a Dios fuimos escuchados”, expresó Rivera.
Cesar Pérez, de 52 años, zapatero por más de 44 años en el terminal, recordó cómo era trabajar cuando era niño.
“Desde muy niño llegué al Terminal de Maracaibo y limpiaba zapatos, aún sigo dedicándome a lo mismo y soy el único en el terminal que ofrece este servicio, pero recuerdo que a mí y a otros niños que veníamos a trabajar, nos correteaban y amenazaban con no dejarnos entrar más. Ahora es diferente tenemos hasta un uniforme que nos identifica como trabajadores de este lugar”, manifestó con orgullo.
Eric Guanipa, otro joven de 31 años, vendedor de almuerzos, expresó que ahora el sustento alimenticio de su familia “está seguro”.
“Mi familia vive de mi trabajo, desde los 18 años vengo al terminal a vender mis almuerzos, pero sacaban a mis compañeros y a mí que veníamos a trabajar. Ahora es distinto porque respetan nuestro trabajo”, dijo Guanipa.
Rodmar Urdaneta, director del Terminal de Pasajeros de Maracaibo, explicó que quienes vienen a ganarse su sustento diario de manera ambulante, desde hace más de 10 años, merecen un trato digno y nosotros como institución contamos con un comercio más organizado.
“Todos los transportistas, comerciantes y carretilleros entrarán en este plan de organización para que así puedan trabajar, cada quien en sus respectivas áreas, pero siempre garantizando la tranquilidad y seguridad de los usuarios, para brindar un mejor funcionamiento de nuestro terminal”, precisó Urdaneta.
Informó que habrá una segunda fase de aceptación para aquellos comerciantes que quedaron rezagados en el primer llamado.
“Pronto tendremos una segunda fase de aceptación para los comerciantes, además del primer llamado que ya estamos haciendo a los carretilleros para así tener a todos nuestros trabajadores plenamente identificados y cada quien dedicado a su área de prestación de servicios de manera organizada”, recalcó.
