El proceso que condujo a la detención Viveca Sarahis Beltrán González, funcionaria activa del Cuerpo de Policía Bolivariana del estado Zulia, señalada de mantener comunicación constante con las bandas criminales de «Alfonsito”, “Yet Nava” y el “Caracas», dedicadas a la extorsión, comenzó con un enfrentamiento en el oeste de Maracaibo.
Franklin José González Sangroni, apodado el “Ñato», y efectivos de la base Contra Extorsión Zulia de la Policía científica, sostuvieron el careo en el sector La Montañita. El criminal, buscado también por su relación con los grupos extorsivos, cayó ante los efectivos del cuerpo detectivesco.
Pero la muerte del “Ñato”, solicitado por el Juzgado 3° de Control, Extensión Cabimas, por el homicidio del cicpc Rómulo Colman, no quedó allí. Las experticias de los uniformados condujeron al paradero de Beltrán quien, en resumidas cuentas, era una de las encargadas de mover de un lugar a otro las armas y los artefactos explosivos para las bandas que mantienen en zozobra al comercio a la capital de la región y sus municipios vecinos.
Pero la policía no fue la única detenida. Brixio José Ávila Bracho y Yenire María Saavedra Torres, también fueron arrestados. Él era un colaborador directo de Beltrán, mientras que ella guardabas los pertrechos de los criminales.
Durante las aprehensiones, hechas en el sector Amparo, los detectives incautaron de una pistola calibre 9 milímetros, un Ford Fusión negro, tres teléfonos celulares, siete conchas percutidas y un artefacto explosivo.
