Alcaldía de San Francisco realiza la cuarta jornadas de atención a Yukpas de la C-1

Dando continuidad a las jornadas de atención a la etnia Yukpa, el alcalde de San Francisco, Gustavo Fernández, y la primera dama Franciela Núñez de Fernández, llevaron atención a esa comunidad asentada en las inmediaciones del Hospital General del Sur, en la Circunvalación 1.

Esta es la cuarta jornada de asistencia social a esa comunidad indígena que ya suma mil 500 familias atendidas. En esta oportunidad se contó con la presencia de miembros del gabinete municipal, concejales del municipio San Francisco y diputados del Consejo Legislativo del estado Zulia.

Este asentamiento, donde conviven 81 familias, se ofrecieron servicios de peluquería, asistencia médica, dotación de medicamentos y vacunación contra el Covid 19. En el lugar también fueron entregadas bolsas de alimentos para todas las familias, así como balones de fútbol para los niños y jóvenes de la comunidad.

Los caciques yukpas, Miguel y Orlinda Romero, expresaron su agradecimiento ante estas atenciones, pues según ellos, siempre fueron marginados por los gobiernos anteriores. “Ningún alcalde había venido, ni nos hacían caso”, expresó el cacique de la comunidad.

Por su parte, el alcalde Gustavo Fernández, recalcó que no se trata de un tema político sino de unir voluntades, de la mano del gobernador Manuel Rosales y llegando a acuerdos con el Ministerio de Pueblos Indígenas, se pueden resolver muchos problemas de las comunidades yukpas que hacen vida en el municipio San Francisco.

Fernández aprovechó para felicitar a los jóvenes en su día, recalcando que el presente y el futuro está en sus manos. «Desde San Francisco estamos comprometidos con la juventud que ha decidido quedarse y forjar una mejor ciudad y un mejor país», precisó el burgomaestre sureño.
