Las autoridades de Venezuela detectaron en las últimas 24 horas 181 nuevos casos de COVID-19, 179 por transmisión comunitaria y dos importados, informó este jueves la vicepresidenta ejecutiva, Delcy Rodríguez.
«La Comisión Presidencial para la Prevención, Atención y Control de la COVID informa que en las últimas horas se detectaron 181 nuevos contagios en Venezuela: 179 casos por transmisión comunitaria y dos importados», escribió Rodríguez en su cuenta de Twitter.
Sobre los casos importados, son dos pacientes provenientes de Panamá, reseñó EFE.
La región con más casos fue Zulia con 91, para sumar 177 casos de coronavirus en 48 horas, seguido de Miranda con 29, Anzoátegui con 14 y Caracas con 11.
Los estados con menos casos fueron Lara y Sucre con nueve, Yaracuy con siete, Táchira con cuatro, La Guaira con dos, Guárico, Falcón y Portuguesa con uno.
De esta manera, Venezuela llegó a 515 mil 943 contagios desde el inicio de la pandemia, aunque 504 mil 626 pacientes se han recuperado.
Sólo dos fallecidos en la jornada
Por otra parte, Rodríguez informó que en las últimas 24 horas fallecieron dos personas más por la COVID-19 en Monagas y Zulia, con lo que el total de decesos desde el inicio de la pandemia llegó a 5 mil 643.
El lunes el presidente Nicolás Maduro aseguró en la inauguración del 49° periodo de sesiones del Consejo de Derechos Humanos de Naciones Unidas, en Ginebra, que Venezuela se ubica entre los países con «mejor desempeño de combate contra el coronavirus».
«Se necesita un esfuerzo multilateral y verdadera voluntad política para defender la vida humana por encima de las ganancias farmacéuticas», aseveró.
Reiteró que el país caribeño alcanzó la meta de 102 % de ciudadanos mayores de 18 años vacunados con la «dosis completa» contra la COVID-19, aunque en este escenario tampoco explicó a qué se debe que el porcentaje supere en un 2 % al total de la población mayor de edad.
No obstante, datos de la Organización Mundial de la Salud, actualizados al 18 de febrero, refieren que 14 millones 966 mil 671 ciudadanos venezolanos han sido vacunados con dos dosis de la vacuna contra la COVID-19, lo que equivale a 49,8 % de personas con la pauta completa.
