En este vuelo iban a ser deportados 31 hombres y 10 mujeres, todos ellos detenidos en un operativo realizado durante la madrugada por encontrarse en una situación migratoria irregular dentro de Perú, según detalló la emisora de radio RPP.
Entre los inmigrantes a ser deportados había 23 sin ningún tipo de antecedente penal, mientras que otros 18 tenían algún tipo de antecedente en su país por el que habían cumplido ya sus respectivas penas.
Para adquirir un permiso de residencia en Perú es necesario acreditar que el solicitante está libre de cualquier tipo de antecedente penal en su país de origen.
Durante la última campaña electoral, el izquierdista Castillo fue electo presidente con un discurso hostil contra la inmigración e incluso prometió que daría 72 horas a los extranjeros “delincuentes” para abandonar el país una vez que asumiera el mando en julio, algo que finalmente nunca se llegó a aplicar.
Perú es el segundo país con mayor presencia de venezolanos al haber acogido a 1,2 millones de los cerca de 6 millones que en los últimos años han abandonado Venezuela por la grave crisis económica que atraviesa el país.
Uno de cada seis migrantes venezolanos llegó a Perú, una tasa solo superada por Colombia, que acoge a 1,8 millones de venezolanos, según los últimos datos de la Plataforma de Coordinación para los Migrantes y Refugiados de Venezuela, liderada por Agencia de Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados (Acnur) y la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (OIM).
