El Vaticano sancionó a otros dos obispos polacos por haber encubierto casos de agresiones sexuales a menores perpetrados por miembros de su clero, anunció el viernes el episcopado de este país.
Se trata del obispo decano de Zielona Gora y Gorzow (suroeste), monseñor Stefan Regmunt, y del obispo emérito de Kalisz (centro), monseñor Stanislaw Napierala, según dos comunicados publicados por el servicio de prensa de la conferencia episcopal polaca.
Ambos textos mencionan “negligencias” en el tratamiento de los casos de “agresiones a menores perpetrados por curas” en las dos diócesis respectivas.
Los dos religiosos no podrán efectuar celebraciones públicas y deben participar financieramente en una fundación de protección de menores en la comunidad católica.
Se trata de un nuevo episodio en una larga serie de acusaciones sobre abusos sexuales contra la influyente Iglesia católica polaca.
En mayo, otros dos obispos fueron sancionados por el Vaticano por los mismos motivos. Y en marzo, se interpuso una demanda a la fiscalía polaca contra el cardenal Stanislaw Dziwisz, muy cercano a Juan Pablo II, y otros tres obispos por encubrir casos pederastas dentro de la Iglesia.
El próximo lunes, la Iglesia católica polaca tiene que publicar una serie de datos estadísticos sobre abusos sexuales a menores dentro de su comunidad.
