A pesar de esos informes, se desconoce hasta el momento el número exacto de trabajadores que se encuentran dentro del almacén y si hubo lesiones graves o daños mayores.
Tampoco Amazon emitió un comunicado al respecto de manera inmediata.
El derrumbe del edificio fue reportado poco después de que un tornado tocase tierra en esa localidad, cerca de las 20:30 hora local (2:30 hora GMT).
Edwardsville, una pequeña ciudad de unos 25.000 habitantes, se encuentra cerca de la frontera entre Illinois y Misuri, a unos 450 kilómetros al suroeste de Chicago.
