Pese a todo, las tensión acumulada estos días, como atestiguó su sollozo, incidió probablemente en su actuación, reseña la AFP.
Vestida con un conjunto malva, la rusa, que erró uno de sus primeros saltos, firmó su peor puntuación de la temporada en un programa corto, después de haber superado los 90 puntos en sus dos últimas competiciones.
De todas maneras, la campeona de Europa e invicta esta temporada en su debut en categoría sénior, queda delante en la clasificación de su compatriota Anna Shcherbakova (80.20) y la japonesa Kaori Sakamoto (79,84).
Pocas horas antes de competir en Pekín, en busca de su segundo oro tras el obtenido con sus compañeras rusas en el concurso por equipos, un día antes de conocerse su positivo, la televisión rusa emitió en una entrevista en la que Valieva afirmó sentirse «cansada emocionalmente» después de varios días de escándalo por su positivo el 25 de diciembre, durante el Campeonato de Rusia, en la sustancia prohibida trimetazidina, un producto que se prescribe contra la angina de pecho, pero prohibida por la Agencia Mundial Antidopaje desde 2014, ya que aumenta la resistencia.
«Días difíciles para mí»
«Estos últimos días han sido muy difíciles para mí«, aseguró a la televisión rusa, en sus únicas declaraciones al no pararse a hablar con la prensa tras su actuación.
Sin embargo, si se confirma el jueves como ganadora del oro, el Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI) ya anunció que no habría ceremonia de entrega de medallas, hasta que no se resuelva su caso.
«Estoy feliz, pero al mismo tiempo cansada emocionalmente«, prosiguió Valieva, quien empezó a llorar antes de añadir que «estas son lágrimas de felicidad y también un poco de tristeza».
«Al mismo tiempo, por supuesto, estoy feliz de estar en los Juegos Olímpicos y de intentar representar a mi país. Espero hacerlo lo mejor posible«, precisó la patinadora rusa.
La ucraniana Anastasiaa Shabotsova, que también ha pasado por las manos de la entrenadora de Valieva, Eteri Tutberidze, salió en su defensa.
«Kamila no necesita (doparse). Es ridículo pensar que tomaría algo. No lo necesita. Tiene mucho talento y trabaja mucho«, señaló la ucraniana, eliminada tras el programa corto.
Por su parte, la defensa de la patinadora mencionó una posible contaminación accidental de la joven prodigio, señaló este martes Denis Oswald, miembro del Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI).
«No asistí a las audiencias (del Tribunal de Arbitraje Deportivo), pero el argumento (de su defensa) fue la contaminación con un producto que tomó su abuelo«, indicó Oswald, en el punto de prensa del COI en la capital china.
«Producto contaminado»
El argumento del «producto contaminado«, es decir, la ingestión accidental de una sustancia dopante por causas ajenas al deportista, es doblemente importante: puede permitir obtener el levantamiento de la suspensión provisional, pero también reducir la sanción a una simple «reprimenda sin suspensión» cuando el caso se decida sobre el fondo.
Tras la notificación de su prueba positiva el 8 de febrero, Valieva fue suspendida de manera provisional por la agencia antidopaje rusa (Rusada) antes de obtener el levantamiento de su suspensión al día siguiente de recurrir.
Tras escuchar a las distintas partes, incluida Valieva, durante seis horas, el Tribunal de Arbitraje Deportivo (TAS) decidió, sin pronunciarse sobre el fondo del caso, que la decisión de Rusada de levantar la suspensión estaba justificada y que la campeona de Europa 2022 podía continuar participando en los Juegos Olímpicos de Pekín-2022, donde ganó la prueba por equipos.
