El estudio, en el que también participa el gobierno autonómico de Cataluña, está firmado, entre otros, por el catedrático del Centro Estadístico en Medicina de la Universidad de Oxford, Daniel Prieto-Alhambra; el secretario de Salud Pública de Cataluña, Josep Maria Argimon; y la responsable de vacunación en Cataluña, Carmen Cabezas.
El artículo especifica además que la primera dosis ya genera una reducción de infecciones de entre un 50 y un 60 % en toda la muestra estudiada, tal y como subrayó Daniel Prieto-Alhambra en declaraciones a una emisora de radio.
La muestra estudiada de la investigación incluye 28.594 usuarios de residencias de Cataluña, 26.238 empleados de esos centros y 61.951 trabajadores de la salud.
