Por esa razón, el técnico uruguayo afirmó que esperan un partido complicado, ‘como son todos en las eliminatorias’.
Tabárez hizo una evaluación del técnico de Venezuela, el portugués José Peseiro, del que, aseguró, apuesta por un fútbol por las bandas, con ‘mucha’ velocidad, poniendo gente al ataque y con jugadores ‘que tienen vocación para regresar y colaborar con el andamiaje defensivo’.
«Venezuela ha crecido mucho, pero los partidos son circunstanciales, me parece que los dos equipos tienen su potencial, sus virtudes y tienen además su historia y van a tener su mentalidad para el partido», añadió.
El seleccionador charrúa recordó que, actualmente, una de las mayores dificultades es la pandemia de la COVID-19, y que eso produce incertidumbre.
«Está muy difícil, jugadores que caen en todos los equipos, se lesionan, se contagian», afirmó.
Los dirigidos por Tabárez vienen de empatar 0-0 con Paraguay.
Venezuela y Uruguay no se enfrentan desde 2017 cuando jugaron un partido por las eliminatorias del Mundial de Rusia 2018, con empate 0-0.
