Una mujer georgiana de 111 años superó el coronavirus y fue dada hoy de alta tras pasar 12 días en un hospital, informaron las autoridades locales.
“La paciente, nacida en 1910, se siente bien. Cumplió con todas las recomendaciones médicas y tenía muchas ganas de recuperarse”, dijo un portavoz del centro médico donde fue tratada la anciana, reseñó EFE.
El hijo de la mujer, de 80 años, aún continúa ingresado por covid, según fuentes hospitalarias. Georgia notificó este lunes 1.120 nuevos casos de la covid-19 y 61 muertes por la enfermedad.
El récord de fallecimientos por coronavirus se registró en el país caucasiano el pasado 2 de septiembre, con 81 muertes.
En total en Georgia, con una población de 3,7 millones de personas, han fallecido 7.867 pacientes de covid desde el inicio de la emergencia sanitaria global.
Según las estadísticas oficiales, a día de hoy han recibido al menos una dosis de vacuna 845.420 personas, de la cuales 480.613 han sido inmunizadas con la pauta completa.
Georgia dispone en la actualidad de cuatro vacunas contra la COVID-19: la de Pfizer, la de AstraZeneca, así como dos fármacos chinos, Sinopharm y Sinovac.
Ante el aumento de los contagios, las autoridades reimplantaron el pasado día 17 el uso obligatorio de mascarillas en los espacios abiertos.
También fue suspendido el servicio de transporte municipal hasta el próximo 13 de septiembre y se prohibieron todas las actividades deportivas y recreativas masivas.
Entre las medidas para prevenir la propagación del coronavirus, los estudiantes georgianos iniciarán el año académico el próximo 15 de septiembre a distancia.
