Dos personas murieron y otras dos resultaron heridas como consecuencia de un tornado que azotó áreas del noroeste de Florida (EEUU) la noche del jueves y que dejó varias casas destruidas, informó la oficina del alguacil del condado de Washington.
Según muestran imágenes publicadas este viernes en la página de Facebook de la oficina del alguacil, el paso del tornado dejó carreteras cortadas por la caída de árboles.
Además de algunas viviendas convertidas en montañas de escombros, señala EFE.
“Un tornado ha aterrizado en el condado de Washington en el área de Gilbert’s Mill Rd. y sus alrededores. Las casas están destruidas. Múltiples líneas eléctricas caídas”, escribieron las autoridades este viernes en una actualización y en la que alertaron a los conductores de la zona.
Tornado causa múltiples daños en Florida
Las imágenes tomadas por un dron de la oficina del alguacil del condado de Washington, en el noroeste de Florida y conocida como Panhandle, muestran la devastación que el tornado ocasionó en la comunidad de Gilberts Mill.
Las imágenes comienzan en Gilberts Mill Road, al noreste de Kent Mill Pond Rd., siguiendo un camino de destrucción rumbo al noreste.
Siendo este por donde el tornado continuó con dirección al vecino condado de Jackson, detallaron las autoridades.
Según la policía local, equipos de la Cruz Roja se han instalado en un centro de la comunidad de Orange Hill.
Según la página weather.com, “un brote de clima severo de varios días que atravesó el sur (de EE UU) el miércoles ha persistido hasta el jueves con docenas de informes de daños por tormentas y tornados a su paso”, incluyendo áreas de los estados de Mississippi y Tennessee.
