A través de un comunicado, el Tribunal Supremo de Justicia (TSJ), fijó posición ante las «apreciaciones emitidas por la exfiscal de la CPI, Fatou Bensouda», tras considerar que sus conclusiones no se ajustan a la realidad venezolana.
En el documento, el presidente del TSJ, Maikel Moreno, recordó la disposición del Gobierno de recibir al actual fiscal de la Corte Penal Internacional, Karim Khan, para que constate «objetivamente» la situación del país y se atienda cualquier requerimiento especial.
Debe resaltarse además que las ramas del Poder Público Nacional, y especialmente el Sistema de Justicia de Venezuela, están comprometidas con el deber de garantizar la estabilidad de nuestro país y el accionar de sus instituciones en el marco del Estado de Derecho delimitado en la propia Carta Fundamental, cumpliendo con los estándares internacionales del Sistema Universal de los Derechos Humanos, detalla el comunicado.
