Suecia anunció este miércoles (06.10.2021) la suspensión «por precaución» de la vacuna de Moderna contra COVID-19 para los menores de 30 años debido al riesgo de inflamación cardíaca.
La Autoridad de Salud Pública (FHM), encargada de la campaña de vacunación, «decidió suspender el uso de la vacuna Spikevax, de Moderna, para todos los nacidos a partir de 1991, por principio de precaución«, indica en un comunicado.
Esta decisión se toma «después de signos de aumento del riesgo de efectos secundarios, como la inflamación del miocardio y el pericardio«, precisó la FHM.
Según la agencia, el riesgo es mayor después de la segunda dosis y en los hombres. Si embargo, «es mínimo» y «un efecto secundario muy raro«, subrayó, dice la agencia DW.
Por su parte, Dinamarca indicó este miércoles que había decidido suspender la administración de la vacuna de Moderna en personas menores de 18 años de acuerdo con un «principio de precaución«.
Asimismo, detalló que estaba utilizando la vacuna de BioNTech/Pfizer como la principal opción para las personas de 12 a 17 años de edad.
«En los datos preliminares existe la sospecha de un mayor riesgo de inflamación del corazón, cuando se vacuna con Moderna«, dijo la Autoridad de Salud danesa en un comunicado.
