El político opositor venezolano Stalin González, que fue segundo vicepresidente de la Asamblea Nacional (AN, Parlamento) de Venezuela en 2019, es partidario de que los antichavistas acudan a las elecciones locales y regionales del próximo noviembre y que lo hagan con una fórmula unitaria.
«La elección regional nos permite reorganizar a la oposición que está desorganizada, las campañas permiten tocar a la gente, conocer lo que está pasando, nos permiten mantener espacios que tenemos, reconquistar espacios (…) y dar la lucha en otros», aseguró González a EFE.
A su juicio y por la historia de Venezuela, los gobiernos de las regiones «son una referencia» y los alcaldes son los gestores que están «más cercanos al ciudadano en resolver los problemas».
Debate abierto en la oposición
En el seno de la oposición, está abierto un debate acerca de la posibilidad de ir a las elecciones locales y regionales del próximo 21 de noviembre, tras no acudir a las legislativas de 2020, debido a que varios políticos, y posibles candidatos, consideran que hay falta de garantías.
Entre quienes aún no se inclinan por la idea de participar está Juan Guaidó, quien presidió la AN en 2019, cuando González ocupaba el cargo de segundo vicepresidente.
González aseguró que es necesario mejorar las condiciones electorales, pero se muestra convencido de que «ha habido avances».
«El año pasado se hizo una petición a la Unión Europea (UE), de algunos puntos sobre condiciones para ir al proceso, hoy tenemos un nuevo (Consejo Nacional Electoral) CNE, a algunos no le gusta, pero es mucho mejor que el que había antes y hay dos representantes de la oposición», recuerda.
El nuevo CNE fue elegido en mayo pasado por el actual Parlamento y cuenta con tres rectores de perfil oficialista y dos opositores.El exparlamentario se mostró particularmente satisfecho porque «hay en marcha una auditoría del registro electoral que no se hacía desde 2006».
Subrayó que la semana entrante llegará a Caracas una misión técnica de la Unión Europea (UE) que evaluará si es posible desplegar otra de observación electoral para los comicios regionales y municipales.
«Se ha invitado a otra gente a que vengan a ser observadores del proceso, se está avanzando para que todo el mundo pueda ser candidato y se deje de utilizar la inhabilitación como una herramienta de sacar a la oposición del camino», apostilló.
Precisamente, levantar las inhabilitaciones se antoja como una de las claves para que se sumen el resto de políticos opositores.
Uno de los primeros pasos lo dio el martes el CNE al habilitar a la coalición opositora Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD), que reunió a buena parte de los antichavistas y ganó las legislativas de 2015.
El Tribunal Supremo de Justicia (TSJ) de Venezuela ordenó en 2018 al CNE excluir a la MUD del proceso de validación de boletas electorales por ir en contra «abiertamente (de) la prohibición de la doble militancia».
Para González la medida que adoptó recientemente el CNE «ayuda a que la unidad» opositora vaya junta a las elecciones, lo que considera un paso básico para acudir a los comicios, aunque sostiene que es necesario que los principales partidos de la oposición deben dejar de estar intervenidos por el TSJ, que entregó el liderazgo jurídico a militantes expulsados por sus antiguos compañeros.
Unas elecciones como primer paso
«Estoy convencido de que hay que ir a la elección regional y, a la par, el reto que tenemos es proteger esa elección regional, ir con las mejores condiciones, disputarnos de tú a tú con el régimen los espacios», subraya el político que hizo su carrera, primero en el partido de izquierdas Bandera Roja y, posteriormente, en el socialdemócrata Un Nuevo Tiempo.
Pese a ello, asegura que no será candidato en estos comicios: «No está en mis planes ser candidato, creo que hay roles que a uno le toca asumir en cada proceso y creo que hay muchas cosas que hay que trabajar, hay muchas cosas que avanzar».
En todo caso, no cierra la puerta de manera definitiva, pues afirma que aspiraría a algún cargo «si la unidad (de la oposición) lo decide o los partidos deciden».
«Ese es otro tema, pero hoy mi rol creo que está en otro lado y se trata de abrir caminos para retomar el voto como herramienta de lucha y lograr un acuerdo que nos lleve a salir de la crisis que vivimos», concluye.
