Un nuevo sondeo mostró este domingo una caída de la intención de voto por el candidato presidencial Pedro Castillo a 36,2 % y el incremento a 30 % a favor de la postulante Keiko Fujimori, con miras a la segunda vuelta presidencial en Perú.
La encuesta del Instituto de Estudios Peruanos (IEP) reveló que la intención de voto a favor del izquierdista Castillo perdió cinco puntos porcentuales en mayo, respecto al mes anterior y después del debate que le propuso a su rival en la ciudad de Chota.
En tanto, la derechista Fujimori subió 8,5 puntos porcentuales en mayo, después de sumar apoyos de otros partidos conservadores y de retomar una intensa agenda de campaña.
El porcentaje de indecisos también bajó este mes a 8,6 %, cinco puntos menos desde abril, pero el porcentaje de electores que votarán en blanco o viciado se mantiene en 21 %, de acuerdo a la encuesta publicada por el diario La República.
Los votantes en blanco o viciado se encuentran en el grupo etario de entre los 18 y 24 años (28,9 %) y los de 25 a 39 años (26,7 %) y asimismo en el sector socioeconómico medio con 24,8 %.
Las regiones que apoyan mayoritariamente a Castillo son el sur con 45,9 % y el oriente amazónico con 42,3 %, mientras que Fujimori es seguida en Lima por el 41,7 %, la región y ciudad que concentra a un tercio del electorado nacional.
