Un soldado del Ejército colombiano murió y otro resultó herido en un ataque de las disidencias de las FARC este martes contra una patrulla que realizaba labores de registro y control en el departamento de Arauca, fronterizo con Venezuela, informaron fuentes castrenses.
La acción ocurrió en el sector conocido como Caño Verde, en el municipio de Arauquita, cuando los militares fueron “atacados de manera indiscriminada con armas de fuego desde una camioneta”, dijo en un comunicado el Comando de la Décima Octava Brigada.
La información detalló que “producto del ataque son heridos dos de nuestros soldados, a quienes de forma inmediata se les prestaron los primeros auxilios, pero lamentablemente uno de ellos resultó asesinado”, reseñó EFE.
El soldado herido, que pertenecía al Batallón Especial Energético y Vial nº 1, fue trasladado a un centro médico para recibir atención especializada y, según el primer informe, su condición de salud es estable.
El Ejército dijo que denunciará ante organismos nacionales internacionales “este hecho atroz”, que ha rechazado.
Este ataque contra militares ocurre después de que el pasado 11 de septiembre se produjese otro en una zona rural del caserío Juju, también en el municipio de Arauquita, en el que cinco soldados murieron y seis más quedaron en una acción atribuida al ELN.
Según el Gobierno colombiano, jefes de las FARC y de la guerrilla del Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) están protegidos en Venezuela y desde allí ordenan atentados contra la población civil, las fuerzas de seguridad del Estado, la infraestructura eléctrica y petrolera del país, entre otras acciones.
Una vez cometidas sus acciones en Colombia los guerrilleros regresan al país petrolero, señalamientos que son rechazados por el Gobierno venezolano.
Colombia sostiene que Venezuela protege, entre otros, a los alias “Iván Márquez”, “El Paisa” y “Romaña”, que comandan a quienes se apartaron del acuerdo de paz firmado entre el Gobierno y las FARC en noviembre de 2016.
