El estado mexicano de Sinaloa, en el noroeste del país, se sumó este martes a una veintena de regiones que reconocen el matrimonio entre personas del mismo sexo con la aprobación de una reforma en el Congreso.
Con 23 votos a favor, el Congreso de Sinaloa avaló por unanimidad reformar los artículos 40 y 165 del Código Familiar para extender las figuras del matrimonio y el concubinato a las personas del mismo sexo.
«Viva el matrimonio igualitario, vivan los derechos humanos, viva el Estado de derecho, todas las personas, todos los derechos, el respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz», exclamó en el pleno la diputada Graciela Domínguez, del oficialista Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena).
Desde 2015, la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (SJCN) declaró inconstitucionales los códigos civiles estatales que impiden los matrimonios del mismo sexo, pero casi un tercio de los estados se resisten a reformar su ley, por lo que parejas aún deben interponer amparos legales para acceder al derecho.
