El presidente Servicio Administrativo de Identificación, Migración y Extranjería (Saime), Gustavo Vizcaíno, informó que fueron enviados más de 700 mil documentos al exterior, entre pasaportes internacionales, certificación de valijas; así como también más de 400 mil prórrogas internacionales.
Durante una entrevista por Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Vizcaíno agregó que también fueron entregadas más de 500 mil prórrogas nacionales y 80 mil pasaportes consulares.
Manifestó que pese a la pandemia del COVID-19 el balance de la institución en atencion al público durante 2021 se caracterizó por cumplimiento de las demandas de los ciudadanos venezolanos que se encuentra en el país y en el exterior.
Para el 2022, el organismo prevé lograr mayor eficacia en la tramitación de documentos. Por ello, estudia la posibilidad de entregar pasaportes a domicilio en todos los sectores del país.
