El empresario colombiano Álex Saab, pidió el cumplimiento de una orden judicial que permite a su familia visitarle en Cabo Verde, país donde se encuentra detenido a petición de Estados Unidos, que lo reclama por supuesto blanqueo de dinero, señala una nota de la agencia EFE.
El Tribunal de Apelaciones de Barlovento, situado en la isla caboverdiana de San Vicente, «ha dictaminado que mi familia puede permanecer conmigo mientras estoy bajo arresto domiciliario restrictivo, por lo que no puede haber excusa para el retraso en la expedición del visado de mi familia», afirmó Saab en una carta divulgada por sus abogados y dirigida al pueblo de Cabo Verde.
«En el caso del visado para mi familia, el Gobierno de Cabo Verde afirma que su presencia en el país ‘ejerce una presión indebida sobre el sistema legal’, mientras que la Policía habla de ‘preocupaciones de seguridad'», alega el empresario.
Sus abogados ya denunciaron la semana pasada que las autoridades caboverdianas se niegan a expedir visados a su esposa y sus dos hijas, a pesar de que lo permite el citado tribunal.
Saab también recordó que el mismo tribunal ordenó el pasado 31 de agosto su traslado desde la isla de Sal, donde se encuentra bajo arresto domiciliario, a la capital caboverdiana, Praia, para recibir atención médica especializada ante el deterioro de su salud.
«Resulta que siete semanas después, casi dos meses después, sigo detenido en Sal, mientras mi salud se deteriora gradual e irremediable», subraya.
«En resumen, estamos ante dos decisiones judiciales claras y objetivas a las que las autoridades políticas y policiales de Cabo Verde se oponen», concluye el empresario, al agregar que se trata de «dos negativas incomprensible y absolutamente ilegales».
La carta se publicó después de que el pasado martes su equipo legal pidiera al Tribunal de Apelaciones de Barlovento que revise y archive la causa de su extradición a Estados Unidos.
