La oficina nacional de turismo de Suiza (Suisse Tourisme) anunció este lunes su alianza con la mayor celebridad helvética, el tenista Roger Federer, quien participará en campañas de promoción de un país donde, como en muchos otros, las visitas se han desplomado debido a la pandemia.
El tenista de Basilea será nuevo «embajador turístico» de Suiza, y promocionará en carteles y vídeos los principales atractivos del país, especialmente sus tesoros naturales, en una campaña que llegará primero a ciudades europeas y de EEUU en abril, y después se extenderá a diversos lugares de Asia.
«He recorrido el mundo entero, pero mi lugar preferido sigue siendo Suiza, es el país que más echo de menos cuando estoy de viaje», subrayó Federer en un comunicado donde se anunció su nueva responsabilidad.
«La colaboración es ideal, porque Suiza y su tan bien conservada naturaleza han jugado cierto papel en la extraordinaria carrera de Federer», añadió el director de Suisse Tourisme, Martin Nydegger.
Las pernoctaciones de turistas extranjeros el pasado año en hoteles de Suiza cayeron un 66 %, debido al impacto sufrido por la pandemia, según la Oficina Federal de Estadísticas.
