Un grupo de ladrones robó el viernes varias grabadoras que contienen confesiones que hizo Otoniel, el narcotraficante más buscado de Colombia hasta su detención, a un organismo extrajudicial que investiga el conflicto armado en el país, informó la entidad este sábado.
Las grabaciones habían sido realizadas el miércoles por un miembro de la Comisión de la Verdad, un organismo extrajudicial nacido del acuerdo de paz de 2016 que indaga sobre el conflicto armado, reseñó AFP.
La comisión informó “que el 18 de febrero de 2022 personas sin identificar ingresaron en horas de la noche a la vivienda del investigador”, según un comunicado.
“En el incidente (…) fueron robadas las grabadoras digitales que se usaron en la entrevista y un computador”, agregó el organismo.
La comisión ya había expresado el jueves la necesidad de contar con “garantías” para interrogar a Otoniel después de que varios medios informaran de la presencia de policías durante las indagatorias.
La policía interrumpió una audiencia de Otoniel argumentado que tenía sospechas de que el detenido planeaba fugarse.
La Comisión de la Verdad también pidió a las autoridades y a la comunidad internacional, incluida la ONU, condiciones para seguir investigando “sin intimidaciones”.
“La Comisión necesita escuchar la verdad del señor Úsuga sobre hechos cruciales para entender la dinámica del conflicto armado y su persistencia (…) La verdad es un derecho de las víctimas y de la sociedad”, añade el texto.
La Oficina en Colombia de la Alta Comisionada de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos instó en Twitter “al Estado a tomar medidas inmediatas y urgentes para garantizar y proteger la labor” de la entidad.
Juan Pappier, investigador de la ONG internacional Human Rights Watch, pidió que la comisión “pueda desempeñar su labor libre de interferencias o intimidaciones”.
El gobierno no se ha pronunciado.
Dairo Antonio Úsuga, nombre real de Otoniel, fue detenido en octubre de 2021 en una zona selvática cerca a Panamá durante una megaoperación policial.
El gobierno del conservador Iván Duque ha expresado su intención de que sea extraditado pronto a Estados Unidos, que lo solicita por narcotráfico.
Otoniel está sentenciado en Colombia por tráfico de drogas, homicidio, terrorismo, reclutamiento de menores y secuestro.
Recientemente, Otoniel pidió ser acogido en la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz (JEP), un tribunal producto del proceso de paz con la exguerrilla FARC que contempla penas alternativas a la prisión para aquellos que confiesen la verdad y reparen a las víctimas.
De pasado guerrillero y paramilitar, Otoniel fue el líder del Clan del Golfo, la mayor banda narco del país que exporta unas 300 toneladas de cocaínas anuales, según cifras oficiales.
