River Plate alcanzó lo único que faltaba en el exitoso ciclo de Marcelo Gallardo como técnico: el título de la liga argentina.
Ante 70.000 hinchas en su estadio Monumental, River goleó el jueves 4-0 a Racing Club para conquistar su primera corona de la liga local desde 2014.
Agustín Palavecino marcó el primer tanto a los 31 minutos. Ampliaron Julián Alvarez a los 47 y Braian Romero firmó un doblete con dianas a los 67 y 77.
Los millonarios recibieron las medallas de campeones y el trofeo de ganadores tras la goleada.
“Es un premio al trabajo que venimos realizando”, dijo Álvarez, la gran figura del conjunto millonario y máximo goleador del torneo. “River tiene mucho trabajo. Se ven los frutos. Vamos a entrenar con mucha alegría y después se refleja en la cancha”.
Después de siete años al frente de River, Gallardo puede presumir de un título de la liga. Su ciclo incluye la conquista de un gran total de 13 torneos, incluyendo los cetros de la Copa Libertadores en 2015 y 2018.
Pero el “Muñeco” completó su contrato y deberá contestar a una oferta de la dirigencia para renovar. Su apellido ha sonado como candidato para dirigir a Uruguay, la selección que acaba de despedir a Óscar Tabárez tras una sucesión de malos resultados en las eliminatorias mundialistas de Sudamérica.
“Me siento muy orgulloso de poder estar viviendo esto después de tantos años de estar en este lugar”, dijo Gallardo. “Fueron siete años (como técnico) de muchísimo desgaste. Un club como éste tampoco te da mucho respiro”.
Gallardo aseguró que aún no tomó la decisión de seguir o irse de River.
“Yo le ha dado todo a este club hasta hoy”, aseveró. “Se necesita estar con muchísima energía para seguir. Me lo voy a replantear”.
Antes del comienzo de cada partido de la 22da fecha, en todas las canchas de primera división de Argentina se recordó a Diego Maradona a un año de su muerte.
Sorpresivamente, Racing dominó en el inicio. Recién a los 3, Enzo Copetti disparó solo ante el arquero Franco Armani, quien intervino oportunamente. Con el correr de los minutos, los riverplatenses se afianzaron y tomaron el control del partido y el arquero visitante Gabriel Arias se lució con varias atajadas.
El primer gol llegó por la izquierda del ataque local. Allí apareció Enzo Fernández, quien habilitó a Palavecino. El mediocampista tocó de primera para el 1-0.
Romero pudo ampliar a los 40 con un cabezazo, pero el chileno Arias repelió bien.
Álvarez liquidó el pleito con una definición de primera cruzada tras un rebote para el 2-0 en el arranque del complemento. El seleccionado argentino marcó así su gol número 17 de la competencia.
Romero firmó el tercero al definir solo frente a Arias, quien rozó el balón pero no logró evitar la conquista. El ex Defensa y Justicia se anotó por segunda vez al aprovechar un pase del volante colombiano Jorge Carrascal y definir de derecha.
“Era lo que soñábamos todos. Conseguir el campeonato con nuestro gente”, aseguró Armani. “Salió el partido perfecto”.
River llegó a 52 puntos frente a los 40 de sus escoltas, Defensa y Justicia y Talleres, a falta de tres jornadas.
“Somos muy unidos. Tiramos todos para adelante y cuando nos necesitan estamos ahí”, expresó el veterano zaguero Javier Pinola.
En otro resultado, Rosario Central superó por 4-1 como visitante a Colón con tres goles de Marco Ruben y otro de Emiliano Vecchio cerró la cuenta. El tanto sabalero fue obra de Gonzalo Piovi.
Además, Lanús y Platense empataron 3-3 y Unión derrotó por 1-0 al colista Arsenal en Sarandí.
El miércoles, Independiente derrotó por 1-0 a Boca Juniors, mientras Defensa y Justicia goleó por 4-0 a Atlético Tucumán como visitante para llegar al segundo puesto.
