Las autoridades colombianas rescataron el cuerpo de tres de los once mineros que quedaron atrapados hace 21 días en un socavón de una mina ilegal de oro del departamento de Caldas (centro), informaron este sábado fuentes oficiales.
“Hacía las 2.40 pm se recuperó el tercer cuerpo de los mineros atrapados en la mina de la verede El Bosque de Neira. Continúan las labores en la zona”, detalló la Gobernación de Caldas en un mensaje publicado en sus redes sociales.
El vicepresidente de Seguimiento y Seguridad Minera de la Agencia Nacional de Minería (ANM), Javier García, afirmó que el primer cadáver fue hallado el viernes en el “pozo norte” de la mina inundada, ubicada en una zona rural del municipio de Neira, después de un bombeo de agua que propicio “condiciones de seguridad mínimas para poder hacer una inspección visual”.
“Hicimos la inspección con la ayuda de una retroexcavadora y un socorredor minero de la Agencia y pudimos detectar que había ciertos elementos que correspondían a trabajos mineros. Encontramos una rueda, una carretilla y una barra. Seguimos destapando con la retroexcavadora (…) y en esa actividad detectamos que había una persona”, agregó el funcionario.
García señaló que el cuerpo fue rescatado y está en poder de las autoridades judiciales, que están identificando a esa persona.
“Después de 21 días del accidente hemos encontrado a la primera de las 11 personas desaparecidas. Desafortunadamente el tiempo cambió, está empezando a llover. Esta noche va a continuar el bombeo para mantener los niveles de agua que tenemos y mañana, muy temprano, seguir trabajando con las retroexcavadoras porque entendemos que ahí están los desaparecidos”, expresó García en la noche del viernes.
El accidente
La emergencia ocurrió el 26 de marzo en un sector conocido como El Bosque, en una mina de oro que era operada de forma ilegal en una zona montañosa y cuyo socavón se inundó por el aumento del caudal del río Cauca, el segundo en importancia de Colombia.
Pese a los esfuerzos desplegados se estima que es poco probable que los mineros estén aún con vida debido al tiempo que ha pasado desde el accidente.
En la zona trabajan la ANM, bomberos, policías y socorristas de la Unidad Nacional de Gestión del Riesgo de Desastres (UNGRD) con el apoyo de las autoridades locales y regionales.
La Gobernación de Caldas aseguró en la mañana de este sábado que ya se restablecieron “las acciones (de búsqueda) y continúa el bombeo” y la construcción de un dique para rescatar al resto de personas que quedaron atrapadas.
El pasado 20 de febrero tres personas murieron y dos más resultaron heridas en otro accidente ocurrido en una mina del municipio de Buriticá, en el departamento de Antioquia (noroeste).
