Tras cuatro horas de intensas lluvias en distintas zonas del estado Mérida, se registró una fuerte nevada en el Pico el Águila este domingo, 6 de junio. Los habitantes de la zona, que se encuentra a 4.118 metros sobre el nivel del mar, reportaron el fenómeno a través de las redes sociales, señala El Pitazo.
Hace exactamente un mes, durante la madrugada del 5 de mayo, ocurrió la primera nevada de la temporada anual en los picos Bolívar, El Toro, El León y La Concha, cuatro de los más altos que tiene la Sierra Nevada.
Durante esta época del año, este fenómeno es común y suele extenderse hasta el mes de septiembre. En los primeros tres meses del año también suelen caer algunas nevadas.
La cuenta de Twitter de la Sierra Nevada de Mérida publicó el video en el que observa la nieve caer. La reacción de los usuarios es de admiración por «tanta belleza».
