Un hombre murió al caerle un poste de luz pública durante el sismo de magnitud 7,1 que sacudió la noche de este martes el
centro y sureste de México, informó un gobernador regional.
“Un hombre murió porque le cayó un poste en el municipio de Coyuca de Benítez”, Guerrero (sureste), informó a Milenio TV el gobernador de esa demarcación, Héctor Astudillo.
En cuanto a daños materiales, el presidente de México, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, dijo en un mensaje que solo se reportaron “piedras caídas de bardas, lo mismo en Morelos (centro), no hay daños en Oaxaca (sur), no hay daños en Puebla (centro)”, así como tampoco en Ciudad de México.
El sismo se registró a la 01H47 GMT del miércoles y tuvo su epicentro 11 km al sureste de Acapulco, Guerrero, sureste de México, de acuerdo con el Sismológico Nacional. Hasta el momento se han registrado ocho réplicas, de magnitud 4 a 5.
“Hasta el momento no se reportan daños graves”, escribió en Twitter la alcaldesa de Ciudad de México, Claudia Sheinbaum.
“Tentemos algunos cortes de luz, pero sin novedad relevante, el metro y el metrobús siguen funcionando”, dijo a Milenio TV, Omar García, titular de la secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana.
Crisis nerviosas
La alcaldesa de Acapulco, Adela Román, reportó que “hay crisis nerviosas, la gente está preocupada porque hay réplicas”.
También dijo que se habían detectado “muchas fugas de gas” en zonas residenciales.
Las autoridades habilitaron unidades deportivas para que la gente duerma allí si teme volver a su casa, constató la AFP.
En la avenida Costera se cayeron postes de luz pública que aplastaron vehículos, y que colapsó la fachada de una iglesia.
Afuera de un hotel, un turista intentaba recuperarse del fuerte susto, mientras abrazaba a su madre de 86 años que lloraba.
“Me estaba bañando y de repente sentí un movimiento muy fuerte y pues me espanté y grité”, dijo Sixto a la AFP, un residente de la Ciudad de México que vacaciona en Acapulco, y que solo alcanzó a salir con una toalla de baño.
“Vengo con mi madre y estamos en el piso 11 del hotel (…) creo que sí quedó muy dañado el hotel”, añadió.
El sismo también se percibió con moderación en algunas regiones del Estado de México y Veracruz (este).
El movimiento telúrico provocó crisis de nervios también en el centro de la Ciudad de México, cuyos habitantes tienen fresco aún el recuerdo trágico del sismo de 7,1 grados registrado el 19 de septiembre de 2017, que sacudió al centro del país y dejó 369 fallecidos, la mayoría en la capital.
“Estoy muy asustada, no sé si duerma esta noche, me preocupa mi hija, la desperté para bajarla y yo ni zapatos me puse”, dijo a la AFP Laura Villa, de 49 años, residente del centro de la Ciudad de México.
Turistas hospedados en hoteles de la avenida Reforma, una de las principales de la capital, también evacuaron despavoridos sus cuartos, según imágenes televisivas.
La Ciudad de México fue devastada por terremotos ocurridos en septiembre de 1985 que dejaron más de 10 mil muertos.
