La oposición chilena presentó este miércoles en la Cámara de Diputados la acusación constitucional (juicio político) contra el presidente del país, Sebastián Piñera, tras las supuestas irregularidades en la venta de un megaproyecto minero desveladas en los Papeles de Pandora.
«Las causales de esta acusación constitucional son dos: una, porque el presidente ha infringido abiertamente la Constitución en relación al principio de probidad, y en segundo lugar, por comprometer gravemente el honor de la nación», anunció el diputado socialista Jaime Naranjo, rodeado de representantes de todas las bancadas opositoras, reseñó EFE.
El objetivo es que el libelo acusatorio, que puede desembocar en la destitución de Piñera o su inhabilitación para ejercer cargos públicos, se vote en los próximos días en la Cámara de Diputados y pase al Senado -órgano que actúa como jurado- antes de las elecciones del próximo 21 de noviembre.
