La Unidad de Patrullaje Canino (UPC) de la Policía Municipal de Maracaibo (Polimaracaibo) en comisión conjunta con funcionarios del Destacamento N° 111 de la Guardia Nacional Bolivariana, detuvieron, el martes 16 de abril, a Ender Francisco Morillo Quiva (34) y Richard Javier Fernández González (36), quienes en horas de la madrugada, hurtaron varios objetos, entre ellos juguetes destinados a la donación, de la sede de la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Bethania, ubicada en la parroquia Ildefonso Vásquez.
El denunciante explicó, que han ocurrido una serie de hurtos los últimos días en la iglesia, pero en ésta ocasión fue violentado el techo y la cerca perimetral.
Los uniformados al recibir la novedad, iniciaron labores de campo, llegando hasta la avenida 26 con calle 32 del sector Ajonjolí, donde, apoyados en la información suministrada por los ciudadanos, identificaron a dos ciudadanos, señalados como “azotes del barrio” dedicados al hurto de viviendas y locales comerciales en la zona norte del municipio.
Se ejecutó un despliegue de búsqueda en la zona, visualizando a dos hombres que ante la presencia policial, asumieron actitud nerviosa, intentando huir sin acatar la voz de alto, iniciando así, una persecución hasta entrar en una casa sin número, donde finalmente ambos fueron aprehendidos, encontrando en la misma, varios de los objetos hurtados en la iglesia.
Los detenidos quedaron Morillo y Fernández fueron llevados hasta el Centro de Coordinación Policial Noroeste, quedando a disposición del Ministerio Público.
