El Gobernador del estado Zulia, Omar Prieto Fernández, continúa fortaleciendo el Plan de Intervenciones Quirúrgicas Carabobo 200 en la entidad, en este sentido fue habilitado el hospital materno “Dr. Ernesto Che Guevara”, ubicado en el municipio San Francisco, donde fueron realizadas nuevas operaciones oncológicas.
Estas intervenciones quirúrgicas forman parte de la asistencia social que ofrece la plataforma del programa «Omar a las 7» conducido por el mandatario regional y desde el cual se canalizan ayudas técnicas, labores de servicios públicos, seguridad y salud con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de vida de la población en medio de la pandemia y el bloqueo criminal que aplican contra Venezuela.
El doctor Aulo Ortigoza, Coordinador del Programa de Oncología de la Secretaria de Salud de la Gobernación del Zulia, informó que se realizaron intervenciones de histerectomía que es una enfermedad que es más frecuente en mujeres mayores de 50 años, obesas e hipertensas y que gracias al programa de cirugías oncológicas que dirige el Presidente Nicolás Maduro, a través del Ministerio de Salud y del Gobernador Omar Prieto, se llevan a cabo de manera gratuita.
La habilitación de la maternidad «Dr. Ernesto Che Guevara» para operaciones oncológicas amplia la capacidad de atención a pacientes con cáncer quienes requieren en su mayoría atención inmediata debido a sus condiciones de salud. De esta manera se mantienen activas las jornadas de intervenciones quirúrgicas en días feriados y fines de semana.
