Un vuelo con más de 400 migrantes, la mayoría iraquíes que se encontraban desde hace días varados en la frontera de Bielorrusia y Polonia, despegó este jueves de Minsk con destino a Bagdad, según programa flightradar24.
«En el avión viajan 431 personas«, dijo este jueves (18.11.2021) un portavoz de la embajada de Irak en Moscú.
El vuelo IAW272 partió del aeropuerto de Minsk a las 15:42 hora local (12:42 GMT).
La portavoz de la Presidencia bielorrusa, Natalia Eismont, precisó en declaraciones a la agencia estatal BELTA que «la mayoría de los migrantes» que vuelan en la aeronave con destino a Bagdad son iraquíes.
«Lamentablemente solo unas 400 personas expresaron el deseo de regresar«, dijo Eismont, quien agregó que el resto de los ciudadanos, que se encuentran en la frontera bielorruso-polaca, piden que se les conceda «un corredor humanitario» con destino a Europa Occidental, «principalmente Alemania«.
La portavoz agregó que «a día de hoy en Bielorrusia se encuentran cerca de 7.000 refugiados«, unos 2.000 de ellos en la frontera con Polonia.
El Gobierno iraquí no ha ofrecido más detalles sobre si serán fletados más vuelos de repatriación.
Anteriormente, fuentes kurdas señalaron a Efe que en la frontera entre Bielorrusia y Polonia se encuentran entre 7.000 y 8.000 kurdos iraquíes.
A principios de agosto, Irak suspendió los vuelos a Minsk, después de que Bagdad fuera presionado por la comunidad internacional para frenar la inmigración ilegal de iraquíes que cruzan de Bielorrusia a Lituania, ante el aumento del flujo de migrantes hacia territorio comunitario.
