Este jueves se dio inicio a los actos conmemorativos del Bicentenario de la Batalla de Carabobo con la colocación de una ofrenda floral al Libertador Simón Bolívar y la izada de la Bandera Nacional en el Panteón Nacional.
La actividad estuvo liderada por el ministro de Defensa, Vladimir Padrino López, quien resaltó la importancia que esta fecha reviste para los venezolanos al asegurar que marcó el inicio de la era de la Venezuela que hoy se erige como epicentro de dignidad en el mundo.
«Carabobo es hoy y estará siempre lleno de lecciones para el pueblo de Venezuela (….) para seguir venciendo a los imperios de ayer y los que pretendan imponerse», señaló durante su intervención en las afueras del Panteón donde reposan los restos mortales de Bolívar y otros héroes de la Patria.
Acompañado de la ministra de Interior y Justicia, Carmen Meléndez, el contralor general de la República, Elvis Amoroso, la ministra para la Mujer e Igualdad de Género, Carolys Pérez y el alto mando militar de la Fuerza Armada Nacional Bolivariana, el general en jefe recordó que fue #gracias a esa gesta heroica del 21 de junio de 1824 que Venezuela es libre, soberana e independiente».
“A esta hora se encontraba nuestro Padre Bolívar evaluando los detalles y tomando decisiones para enfrentar con éxito al ejército más poderoso de la tierra, ese que había derrotado a Napoleón Bonaparte”, recordó y sostuvo que con gran sagacidad supo emplear sus fuerzas para destruir a las filas realistas.
Sobre las actividades previstas para conmemorar esta fecha, destacó que la Fanb estará brindando un desfile majestuoso en el Campo de Carabobo para honrar al Libertador y a quienes lucharon hace 200 años.
Instó al pueblo a celebrar y a recordar que “Bolívar no está muerto, porque camina junto a nosotros, junto a este pueblo glorioso que como hace 200 años, sigue de pie invicto combatiendo imperios.
