Las hermanas Sofía y Sara Oviedo Quintana, que estaban desaparecidas en Ecuador, salieron por cuenta propia de su casa, aseguraron sus padres este miércoles. Negaron que las adolescentes, de 12 y 13 años de edad, hayan sido secuestradas, como se rumoró en las redes sociales.
Joel Oviedo y Misbelia Quintana aseguraron, en una entrevista con el periodista Sergio Novelli, para el canal digital VPI TV, que en su familia no hay violencia, pero sí afirmaron que aplican las correcciones comunes.
«Como padres normalmente corregimos a nuestros hijos, tenemos reglas en casa; si mis hijas hacen algo que no está bien, se corrige. Pero fuera de ahí, para hablar de maltratos, ya ellas hubiesen ido a la policía. Hay todavía un rompecabezas aquí», expresó Oviedo.
Aseguró que han avanzado bastante las investigaciones y lamentó los comentarios que han surgido en los últimos días en las redes sociales, en los que lo acusan de presuntamente maltratar y de abusar sexualmente de sus hijas.
«Soy su papá, ‘tú eres un pedófilo, que tú las violas’. Dios mío, si sucediera todo eso no estuviera muy bien aquí en Ecuador, no tuvieran mis hijas todo. Sé cómo soy, puedo brindar tranquilamente información sin ningún temor a las autoridades», dijo.

Oviedo agregó que pidió a las autoridades encargadas del caso adelantar el proceso porque, afirmó, hay un bombardeo en su contra. «Tengo paz en mi corazón, si a Jesucristo, aun cuando lo crucificaron, le tiraban piedras, ¿Qué esperamos de nosotros?».
Los padres de Sofía y Sara señalaron que no pueden ofrecer mayores datos para no entorpecer el curso de las averiguaciones. Únicamente tienen permitido hablar sobre el tema con la policía y la Fiscalía General de Ecuador.
«Estoy muy agradecida con todas las personas que difundieron la información, que ayudaron en oración, no tengo cómo pagarles. Pero hasta ahí puedo dar detalles porque tengo que guardar la integridad de mis hijas, porque ellas van a volver a la escuela», expresó Quintana.
Las menores se reencontraron con sus padres el lunes 26 de abril, luego de que las localizaron en una zona de Perú, con bolsos y sin ningún acompañante adulto. Sin embargo, los padres indicaron que se deben esperar los resultados de las investigaciones.
Quintero presumió que una de las razones que tuvieron Sofía y Sara para abandonar su hogar fue la distancia con el resto de su familia. Ellas tienen tres años viviendo en Ecuador y se conoció que hay algunos parientes, por parte de su madre, en Lima.
«¿Eres un padre maltratador?»
Novelli, sustentado en las preguntas que le hicieron llegar usuarios de Twitter, preguntó a Oviedo si maltrataba a sus hijas.
«Somos unas personas que vamos a una iglesia cristiana, yo busco de Dios. Nosotros somos una familia muy trabajadora. Pueden decir que Joel viola a sus hijas. Dios mío, ¿Qué más quieres? Ahora parece que el pueblo venezolano quería que le sucediera algo a las niñas. ¿El pueblo venezolano quiere que les pase algo?», reaccionó.
En días pasados, Novelli leyó durante su programa Al día con Sergio un acta policial de Perú en el que se estableció que, presuntamente, Sofía y Sara huyeron de su casa por problemas de índole familiar, que involucraría un agravio por parte de sus padres.
