Con base en los resultados obtenidos en enero de 2021 por el Observatorio Venezolano de Servicios Públicos en su encuesta sobre percepción ciudadana realizada en 12 ciudades del país, se encontró que, dentro de más de la mitad de usuarios que valoraron negativamente la calidad del servicio eléctrico, un 44,3 por ciento lo hizo de esta forma debido a las fluctuaciones que padecen, mientras que un 12,4 por ciento opinó de la misma manera por la intermitencia y 11,2 por ciento por el daño de sus aparatos eléctricos.
Valencia, Caracas, Barinas y Ciudad Bolívar fueron las ciudades con los porcentajes que reflejan mayor inconformidad debido a las fluctuaciones en el servicio eléctrico con 51,8, 51,5, 49,2 y 49,0 por ciento respectivamente.
En relación con los usuarios que basaron su valoración negativa en la intermitencia del servicio, Caracas obtuvo la mayor proporción de respuestas con un 17,2 por ciento, seguido de Barcelona con 14,6 por ciento y Punto Fijo con 14,2 por ciento.
Sobre las frecuencias de interrupciones eléctricas, destacó que un 16,6 por ciento de los encuestados indicó sufrirlas todos los días y un 14,7 por ciento explicó que ocurren varias veces en el mismo día; es decir, casi un tercio (31,3%) de los encuestados registra fallas eléctricas los siete días de la semana.
Las urbes de San Cristóbal, Mérida y Barinas son las ciudades con las mayores proporciones de usuarios que reportan la pérdida del servicio diariamente con 73,9, 70,4 y 44,8 por ciento respectivamente. Mientras que Caracas, Ciudad Bolívar y Valencia son las que representan los menores porcentajes en estas mismas frecuencias de interrupciones diarias con 14,9, 19,9 y 23,0 por ciento respectivamente.
Julio Cubas, vocero de la organización, señaló que “en lo que respecta a la duración de la pérdida del servicio, para enero de 2021 un 53,9 por ciento indicó que los cortes tardaban entre dos y seis horas para restablecerse, seguido de un 17,1 por ciento de los encuestados que afirmó permanecer entre ‘una y dos horas sin servicio’, luego, con 10,9 por ciento, los usuarios que expresaron esperar menos de una hora”.
Dentro de este mismo grupo de valoración negativa, también se pudo conocer que un 27,1 por ciento aseveró hacerlo de esta manera debido a lo que ellos asumen como esquemas de racionamiento, donde destacaron San Cristóbal (38,4%), Mérida (29,6) y Maracaibo (28,7%) como las urbes con los porcentajes más altos de esta respuesta.
El servicio eléctrico obtuvo una valoración negativa de 52,7 por ciento, siendo las ciudades del occidente del país los lugares donde se evidencia en mayor medida este fenómeno: Mérida con 78,8 por ciento, San Cristóbal con 73,6 por ciento y Punto Fijo con 63,7 por ciento. En porcentajes más bajos figuraron Caracas con 25,5 por ciento, seguido de Barcelona con 35,1 por ciento y Ciudad Bolívar con 44,2 por ciento.
Según el Observatorio de Redes y Medios Digitales de la misma organización, se han publicado reportes sobre un incremento en las interrupciones y su duración en sectores de Táchira y Trujillo. Asimismo, en las protestas de ciudadanos durante el mes de abril se ha exigido la reparación o sustitución de diversos transformadores que han mantenido sin servicio a varias comunidades en país al menos durante 15 días.
