El primer ministro, Ralph Gonsalves, anunció la orden de evacuación inmediata del área norte de la isla, donde son consideradas zonas seguras la franja que va de la Unión Norte a Kingstown, la capital, y otra de Barrouallie a Kingstown.
Además, la Organización Nacional para el Manejo de Emergencias (NEMO, en inglés) ha activado su Centro Nacional de Operaciones de Emergencia (NEOC, en inglés), que comenzó a funcionar las 24 horas.
