La organización no gubernamental SOS Orinoco denunció la realización de una fiesta privada ilegal en la cima del Kusari Tepuy, en el Parque Nacional Canaima.
De acuerdo a la información de la ONG, y las publicaciones hechas en las redes sociales por los asistentes, la celebración tuvo lugar el viernes 4 de febrero con pernocta, para celebrar los 50 años de Rafael Oliveros, director del Grupo La Marea y director general de Campamento Canaima, quien además suscribió un acuerdo comercial con Conviasa “con el propósito de incentivar el turismo en la localidad”.
El tepuy, cuyo nombre significa Cerro Venado, está ubicado frente a la Laguna de Canaima.
“Los invitados del Sr. Oliveros vestidos de smoking y traje largo, todos con zapatos deportivos, fueron conducidos al aeropuerto de Canaima, donde abordaron los lujosos helicópteros para su traslado a la cumbre del Kusari Tepuy. Entre los invitados: Osmel Souza, Aura Marina Hernandez. Al menos 9 vuelos de helicópteros bajaron a los invitados la mañana del sábado 5 de febrero, 2022 entre las 7 y las 9am”, denunció la ONG.

A través de sus redes sociales, el ex director del Miss Venezuela publicó videos y fotografías del evento, mostrando incluso el campamento en el que había “pijamas para dormir con el nombre de cada uno en nuestras carpas”.
La locutora Titina Penzini, otra de las asistentes, también compartió en su Instagram un video de la celebración. “Gracias por esta maravillosa y única experiencia #kusari2022 la inigualable celebración de los 50 de @miragua (Rafael Oliveros) con una logística impresionante junto a @ottoccs y #monsieurx el grupo de amigos más bello del mundo y la belleza inigualable de #canaima y @campamentocanaima en #venezuela for many more Rafa!!!”, escribió.
SOS Orinoco denunció que “un evento de esta naturaleza, que además es de carácter privado, y que no tiene ningún sentido público, no es sólo una violación al Estado de Derecho, sino una afrenta y una bofetada a la dignidad y el honor de todo el pueblo venezolano, especialmente en un momento tan trágico por el que atraviesa el país en medio de una crisis humanitaria compleja reconocida por todos los organismos internacionales”.
La organización alertó que “el impacto humano por actividades irresponsables y que además están prohibidas tienen un efecto, no solo duradero sino probablemente imposible de remediar en una escala de tiempo humana”.
