La idea de repetirse confinamientos como el decidido por Austria, sobrevuela en Europa. Alemania, la primera economía del bloque continental, estudia endurecer aún mas las restricciones. Portugal, uno de los estados miembros con mayor tasa de vacunación, acaba de decidir un bloqueo de una semana para luego de las navidades.
Con este escenario, las previsiones económicas se debilitan, y con ello, las expectativas de mejoras en los balances empresariales, uno de los principales motores del mejoramiento bursátil de los últimos meses, para algunos, recuperación post pandemia.
“Debido a que tienen en mente la ola Delta a principios de año, los inversores tienden a disparar primero y hacer preguntas después, hasta que aprenden un poco más”, resumió a la prensa especializada, Jeffrey Halley, analista senior de mercado de OANDA para Asia Pacífico, para justificar el golpe del estrés de los mercados.
La presidente de la Comisión de la UE, Ursula von der Leyen, adelantando que la Unión Europea tiene como objetivo detener los viajes aéreos desde la región del sur de África, confirmaba esta mañana el golpe para el sector aerocomercial.
“La Comisión propondrá, en estrecha coordinación con los Estados miembros, activar el freno de emergencia para detener los viajes aéreos desde la región de África meridional debido a la variante de preocupación B.1.1.529″, dijo a través de su cuenta en Twitter.
Los inversores castigaron, en el transcurso de la jornada del viernes en Asia, a las aerolíneas que sufrirían un posible regreso de las secuencias de confinamiento o el restablecimiento de las medidas de restricción de viajes. En Tokio, las acciones de Japan Airlines y ANA Holdings cayeron un 6,1 % y un 5, %, respectivamente. En Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific, por su parte, cayó un 3,7 %.
El sector petrolero también es presa de temores. Los centros financieros adelantan que las restricciones reducirían automáticamente el consumo de crudo. El precio del barril también retrocedió un 2 % en Asia el viernes, hasta alcanzar 80,11 dólares.
