El periodista ruso Dmitri Murátov, premio Nobel de la Paz 2021, pidió este jueves «un alto el fuego incondicional y una tregua» y afirmó que “existe la amenaza real de una guerra nuclear” a raíz de la invasión de Ucrania por parte de Rusia.
“Existe la amenaza real de una guerra nuclear”, indicó Murátov durante una comparecencia por videoconferencia en la Subcomisión de Derechos Humanos del Parlamento Europeo.
El director del periódico independiente «Nóvaya Gazeta» recordó que el ministro ruso de Exteriores, Serguéi Lavrov, dijo el miércoles que “la tercera guerra mundial sería una guerra nuclear, y me imagino que aludía a lo que está pasando en Europa central”.
En este momento, consideró que “el mayor peligro” es “la posibilidad, la amenaza de una respuesta nuclear que ya indicó (el presidente ruso, Vladímir) Putin cuando dijo que si Estados Unidos intervenía, la respuesta que daría es algo que nunca se había visto en la historia”.
“Todo esto parece una pesadilla, pero no excluyo la posibilidad de que en un momento dado, se vean tentados a pulsar el botón rojo”, señaló.
Murátov explicó que el miércoles visitó al expresidente ruso Mijaíl Gorbachov, en su 91 cumpleaños, en un hospital, donde se encuentra por sus problemas de salud.
“Y él rechaza de plano la posibilidad de una guerra nuclear. Sin embargo, no sé a quién van a escuchar nuestras autoridades. Solo van a escuchar a una única persona”, comentó.
El premio Nobel apuntó que “nadie imaginó nunca que Rusia llegaría a atacar a Ucrania y que aviones rusos bombardearían Kiev y destruirían Járkov, y que las fuerzas rusas entrarían en el país (…) Pero por desgracia es la cruda realidad”, apuntó.
También recordó que “ha habido amenazas repetidas del uso de la fuerza nuclear, misiles nucleares, distinto tipo de armamento nuclear” y que “llevan años repitiéndolo, esto es ahora un lugar común para las autoridades”.
El periodista evocó que, en la Asamblea Federal rusa, que reúne a las Cámaras baja y alta, se presentó recientemente “un vídeo interesante sobre cómo se lanzaban misiles contra los Estados Unidos”.
“Ahora, considerar la posibilidad de una guerra nuclear se está convirtiendo en algo muy habitual. Se habla de ello en las emisoras, en los canales de televisión. Y a mí esto me parece extremadamente preocupante”, aseveró.
Murátov lamentó el cierre de medios independientes en Rusia, como la emisora el Eco de Moscú este miércoles, y alentó a la población a buscar otros medios de información en internet al margen de los oficialistas.
Aseguró que el pueblo ruso está mayoritariamente en contra de esta guerra, y que el actual Parlamento “no la representa”.
“Por favor, no mezclen a los rusos con sus dirigentes, que son los que han iniciado esta atrocidad. Se ha cercenado el futuro de nuestros hijos con esta guerra”, lamentó.
“Estoy en contacto con diversas personas, incluidas aquellas de los círculos de la élites, y las élites son monolíticas, están muy consolidadas”, explicó, en respuesta a si Putin puede encontrar oposición en sus círculos más próximos.
Según indicó el periodista, “el cemento que los une es que no pueden irse, no pueden abandonar el país. Van a tener que vivir en Rusia, y en Rusia van a tener un presidente para el resto de la historia, para toda la eternidad. Y por lo tanto no pueden expresar sus opiniones, pues tienen miedo. Es difícil”, concluyó.
Murátov pidió “un alto el fuego incondicional y una tregua, en eso deberían centrarse las conversaciones. Evitar una catástrofe humanitaria, salvar a civiles inocentes”, así como crear “corredores humanitarios, acceder a los heridos, realizar intercambios de prisioneros, y que los que han muerto en el combate puedan ser enterrados”.
Murátov, de 60 años, fue en 1993 uno de los fundadores del periódico independiente Novaya Gazeta, «una importante fuente de información sobre aspectos censurables de la sociedad rusa que raras veces mencionan otros medios de comunicación», según el Comité Noruego del Nobel.
