Un total de 1.6 millones de dosis de la vacuna cubana Abdala arribaron al país, por lo que se podrá iniciar una jornada de vacunación sin previa cita para los niños a partir de los dos años de edad, indicó este lunes el vicepresidente para el Socialismo Social y Territorial, Mervin Maldonado.
Durante una jornada de trabajo, Maldonado recordó que, además, arribó 2.5 millones de dosis de vacunas, adquiridas bajo el mecanismo Covax de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
«Han llegado a Venezuela 2.5 millones más de vacunas del mecanismo Covax y, 1.6 millones más de vacunas Abdala. Por eso el llamado, a toda la población, ahora además, con la convocatoria, a que todas las edades, a partir de los 2 años, en todos los centros de vacunación, pueden asistir sin previa cita. Se amplía entonces el mecanismo», expresó Maldonado.
Para esta nueva fase, los niños están siendo inmunizados con las vacunas cubana Soberana II y Abdala.
Sobre el retorno a clase, Maldonado detalló que ya se cuenta con el 94 % de la matrícula completa.
Como parte de las jornadas sociales que se realizan en el país, Maldonado indicó que, hasta la fecha se han recuperado 500 canchas deportivas, así como se continúa trabajando para recuperar todos los centros educativos y universidades en el territorio nacional.
Más de 100.000 familias atendidas por Plan en Acción
Por otra parte, Maldonado enfatizó que esta semana se atendió a 103.872 personas, a través del Plan en Acción, con jornadas de salud, alimentación, servicios, protección social, y seguridad.
«Estamos en la línea de recuperación de bienestar social, y nada nos detendrá», finalizó.
