Netflix estrenará en agosto «Vivo», el musical animado de Lin-Manuel Miranda

El artista de origen puertorriqueño, que acaba de recibir una nominación a los premios Emmy, también da voz al protagonista de la película junto a un reparto en el que destacan nombres latinos como Gloria Estefan y Zoe Saldaña.

La trama de «Vivo» sigue a un kinkajú (un mamífero también conocido como martucha) con talento para la música que vive con Andrés, un músico que se gana la vida dando actuaciones en las calles. Después de recibir una noticia, la mascota recorrerá un bosque para hacer llegar una canción que su dueño compuso a su viejo amor, la cantante Marta Sandoval (Gloria Estefan).

El estreno de «Vivo» llega dos meses después del lanzamiento de «In The Heights», la adaptación cinematográfica del primer musical compuesto por Miranda que, a pesar de su tibio rendimiento en cines, ha recibido excelentes críticas y continúa emitiéndose en la plataforma HBO Max.

Además, Netflix estrenará una segunda película de Miranda: «Tick, Tick… Boom!», un musical que supondrá su debut como director en el cine.

Sobre el proyecto, Miranda señaló que trata sobre «un rincón del mundo» que conoce «desde todos los ángulos».

«Sé lo que es ser un compositor que lucha por sus sueños. Sé lo que es tener 20 años y estar escribiendo ese musical que te llena de ilusión. Sé lo que es estar en Nueva York con un grupo de amigos con sueños artísticos y luego verlos entregarse uno por uno a la vida real, mientras tú todavía estás intentando no rendirte», apuntó.

El músico será también candidato al Emmy a mejor actor de una serie limitada (miniserie) o película televisiva gracias a la adaptación a la pequeña pantalla de su musical «Hamilton».

Miranda ya sabe lo que es ganar un Emmy, puesto que en 2014 se llevó el galardón a la mejor música original por la canción «Bigger!» de la 67 gala de los premios Tony.

La 73 edición de los Emmy, los premios más importantes de la industria televisiva, se celebrará el próximo 19 de septiembre.
