«De otra galaxia… y de mi barrio» se lee en un mural gigante dedicado al estelar futbolista Lionel Messi inaugurado en Rosario, la ciudad argentina donde nació el capitán de la selección nacional hace 34 años.
El mural de 14 metros de alto y 8 metros de ancho, el más grande realizado en la provincia de Santa Fe (centro-este), reina ahora desde la pared de un edificio de La Bajada, el barrio donde vivía el astro en su infancia y frente a la escuela donde cursó la primaria.
“Pensamos en Leo y en la admiración que le tenemos y nos dijimos que no hay algo tan grande para él en Rosario, y sentimos que los regalos hay que darlos cuando estamos y entregarlos en su casa”, contó a la AFP Marlen Zuriaga, una de las muralistas.
El mural representa a un Messi barbudo, sin camiseta que lo identifica. En el centro se ve otra imagen más pequeña de él mismo de chico con una pelota en los pies. Tiene además dos botines colgados del cuello, uno negro, roto, embarrado, y uno de oro, esa distinción que el astro ganó seis veces.
Los realizadores de la obra fueron los artistas plásticos Fernando Lerena y Maxi Ledesma, del grupo Sismo, oriundos de Mar del Plata (sur) y Marlen Zuriaga y Lisandro Urteaga del grupo santafesino Imagina.
Raíces intactas
“Además de ser una de las figuras del fútbol mundial, el más grande para nosotros, él es una figura de la humildad, de lo barrial, mantiene sus raíces intactas”, dijo ‘Fer’ Lerena a la AFP.
Destacó que pese a los años que la ‘Pulga’ residió en Barcelona, “vino a casarse a Rosario, viene siempre a pasar las fiestas a Argentina, se encuentra con sus amigos. El ha mantenido eso intacto y eso es lo que quisimos representar: como ídolo que no pierde la esencia”.
El proyecto contó con el respaldo de la municipalidad de Rosario, 310 km al norte de Buenos Aires.
“Rosario, tu ciudad. La que te banca hasta en el día en que quedaste libre del Barça”, tuiteó el jueves la secretaría de Cultura rosarina al celebrar que los muralistas dieron “la pincelada final al mural en homenaje a Leo Messi”.
El ídolo argentino está disputando en gran nivel la Copa América con la albiceleste, que el sábado se enfrenta a Ecuador por los cuartos de final del certamen continental.
La ‘Pulga’ se convirtió en esta Copa América en el jugador argentino que más veces vistió la casaca albiceleste, en 148 partidos, superando a su amigo Javier Mascherano.
