Se fue para su cuarto y nadie volvió a tener contacto con él. Los médicos llegaron a la habitación, lo trataron, pero fue demasiado tarde.
En las últimas tres temporadas perteneció al equipo Dovy Keukens-FCC y su mejor actuación había sido el segundo puesto en la Beselare-Zonnebeke, edición del 2019.
