La malaria fue una de las desgraciadas herencias que Miguel Bosé recibió de su padre, el famoso torero Luis Miguel Dominguín, quien recién cumplidos 10 años le llevó a un safari por Mozambique sin administrarle quinina, un viaje que planeó alarmado porque leía mucho: «El niño va a ser maricón».
Así lo cuenta Miguel Bosé en El hijo del capitán trueno, las memorias del artista que llegarán a las librerías el próximo 10 de noviembre y de las que la editorial Espasa adelantó un extracto este viernes, un capítulo en el que explica el pánico que le tenía a su padre.
«Lucía, me han dicho que el niño lee, que lee mucho, sin parar», recuerda que le dijo su padre a su madre, la artista italiana Lucía Bosé, cuando tenía 9 años. «Y mi madre le preguntó que cuál era el problema con que yo leyese y él contestó: ¡Maricón, Lucía, el niño va a ser maricón!”.
Bosé asegura que a su madre no le cabía en la cabeza que su padre, siendo una figura internacional, fuera tan poco evolucionado en ciertos temas básicos muy vitales. “Le parecía retrógrado y muy paleto, sin hablar de lo machista», comenta el artista.
Y se dispuso, en contra del criterio de su madre, a llevarlo a Mozambique a un safari, que emprendieron a mediados de junio de 1966, cuando tenía 10 años recién cumplidos. Recuerda que nunca le dio las pastillas de quinina que el médico de la familia le había dicho que tenía que tomar ya que el niño podía morir si enfermaba de paludismo.
Lo que efectivamente ocurrió, recuerda Miguel Bosé, en el mes en el que estuvieron en tres campamentos en Mozambique, donde relata cómo enfermó gravemente. El viaje del famoso torero inició intentando que al niño le «iniciase en la hombría» una chica de 16 años, lo que otro de los acompañantes impidió.
Y rememora cómo se desmayaba durante las marchas y su padre le amenazaba con darle un tortazo por «nenaza»: en ese instante «me rendí para siempre. Entendí que nunca conseguiría estar a la altura de sus expectativas», relata Bosé, que dice que le agarró «pánico» y que finalizó el viaje pesando menos de 15 kilos.
Su madre echó a su padre de casa «nada más llegar de África y le dijo que no quería verle en el resto de sus días y que si al niño le pasaba algo, le pegaría dos tiros», indica Bosé. El artista explica cómo pasó el resto del verano en una silla de ruedas convaleciente de esa «herencia».
