El secretario de la Academia Nacional de Medicina, Huniades Urbina, considera que el plan de refuerzo de inmunización contra el coronavirus en el país “no está bien implementado” porque según los datos de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud reflejan que “la pauta completa apenas está el 40 por ciento de la población venezolana”.
“Estamos hablando de 11 millones de habitantes y estamos dejando a más de 17 millones sin ninguna vacuna. No tiene lógica que empiece a poner una tercera dosis a este grupo de 40 por ciento cuando tienes un 60 por ciento sin vacunar”, indicó el experto.
Insistió en que “no nos parece lógico que estén poniendo una tercera dosis teniendo una gran proporción de la población venezolana sin protección”.
Indicó que “lo ideal sería hacer un barrido” en el que se vacune a la mayor cantidad posible de ciudadanos y continuar con la aplicación de la dosis de refuerzo.
El médico afirmó que no existe ningún inconveniente en que una persona que recibió la inyección de Moderna, Pfizer o Johnson & Johnson se aplique la tercera dosis de las vacunas habilitadas en Venezuela.
“Los estudios científicos han revelado que al combinar los esquemas vacunales con diferentes plataformas, la respuesta del organismo que hacen los anticuerpos con el virus es mucho mejor”, agregó en entrevista concedida al programa Dos más Dos que transmite Unión Radio.
