El banco, el sexto del país, está sometido a un boicot desde el golpe, al igual que las numerosas empresas controladas por los militares.
La represión de las protestas dejó 701 muertos desde que el ejército derrocara el 1º de febrero al gobierno civil de Aung San Suu Kyi, premio Nobel de la Paz en 1991 y detenida en un lugar secreto, según el recuento de la Asociación de Ayuda a los Presos Políticos (AAPP).
La junta militar informó el viernes por su parte de 248 muertos.
La AAPP, una oenegé local, precisó el sábado que las fuerzas del orden mataron la víspera a un total de 82 opositores al golpe en la ciudad de Bago, a 65 kilómetros al noreste de Rangún.
La oficina de la ONU en Birmania indicó el sábado por la noche que monitorea la situación en Bago y pidió a las fuerzas de seguridad que permitan «a los equipos médicos atender a los heridos».
Los manifestantes continuaron el domingo sus protestas, especialmente en Mandalay y en Meiktila (centro), donde universitarios y sus profesores salieron a la calle, según medios locales. Algunos llevaban simbólicamente tallos de flores conocidas como «de la victoria».

«Tememos ahora que haya represalias«, declaró a la AFP esta mujer, quien explicó que los habitantes de Tamu luchaban «para poner fin a la dictadura«.
El creciente derramamiento de sangre también ha enfurecido a algunos de los cerca de 20 grupos étnicos armados de Birmania, que controlan franjas de territorio, principalmente en las regiones fronterizas.
El sábado hubo disturbios en el norte del estado de Shan, cuando el Ejército de Liberación Nacional Ta’ang (TNLA) lanzó un ataque contra una base de la policía, dijo el general de brigada del TNLA Tar Bhone Kyaw.
Una decena de policías murieron en este ataque, según medios locales. El ejército respondió con ataques aéreos, matando al menos a un rebelde, indicó el TNLA.
En Hpa-an, la capital del estado de Karen (sureste), dos personas murieron y otra resultó herida durante un enfrentamiento el sábado con las fuerzas de seguridad, según el diario estatal Myawaddy.
Los medios oficiales informaron además el viernes que un tribunal militar condenó a muerte a 19 personas, 17 de ellas en rebeldía, por robos y asesinatos en una zona de las afueras de Rangún donde rige la ley marcial.
